Winter 2026–27
This winter, Caja is still growing.
Our restaurant is taking a winter pause, but the farm isn't. Food is still growing in Mills River and making its way into our community.
Currently sharing food from the Farm (9/12/2026): Pawpaws, Snap Beans, Okra, fresh Cow Peas, Gochugaru peppers, Sweet Peppers, Sauce Tomatoes, fresh Dill, Ashwaghanda, and fresh Basil. We harvested Japanese Indigo for a future dye class. The summer food is coming to a close and we're currently tending to our Fall and Winter crops, working hard to flip and plant all the beds. Currently we have planted: Carrots, Spinach, Cilantro, Cabbage, Kale, Green Onions, Kale, and more. Where we don't plant food for this fall we'll plant Rye and Winter Peas for cover crops. In October we'll plant Garlic bulbs for next Summer. -- Dennis (dennis@cajasolidaria.org)
