Serious infrastructure, community-run

Partner with us

Caja partners with healthcare organizations, community groups, funders, farmers, food businesses, researchers, and institutions to build stronger local food and health systems. We bring real infrastructure, operating experience, community relationships, and systems thinking to the table.

Some of our current partnerships

food × health × family

Food can do more than fill a gap.

Caja partnered with Farm Sanctuary and AdventHealth to pilot prepared meals, meal kits, and fresh food markets. Participants told us they had better access to healthy food, were able to function better, and that their families ate better too.

food × culture × place

Food can connect us to place.

We share food with local community partners, including foods with deep cultural and regional meaning. Sometimes that means introducing neighbors to a pawpaw. Sometimes it means making sure the food we grow reflects the people, traditions, and place we're growing it for.

practice × policy × systems

And sometimes we work upstream.

Caja works with partners across North Carolina and nationally to tackle a harder question: How do we pay for Food is Medicine in ways that actually last? We bring what we're learning on the ground into conversations about financing, policy, infrastructure, and the future of the field.

What could we build together?

The best partnerships start with a conversation.
